Artist's Statement

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, the arts have been an intrical part of my life since I began studying ballet at the age of 5. Through the years, drawing and painting captured my heart and became a favorite creative expression of mine.

The majority of my work celebrates womanhood. The powerful palette of the moods, emotions and strengths of women is an inspiration that I endeavor to manifest through paint and paper.

I regard my work as an inner expression of moments captured in time, presented on wood panels. Using acrylics, colored pencils, charcoals and ink, I combine various techniques and textures to invoke an image, emotion or mood that, during the process, takes a life of its own. Without any formal training, I enjoy the journey through which each piece evolves. I use this visual language to communicate visions that ascend from deep within my spirit, and it is my pleasure to share them with the world.
